Massage Therapy with Greg

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage uses five basic movements to increase circulation and, in theory, remove toxins from muscles. The therapist uses firm but gentle pressure, aided by oils or gels to reduce friction, to compress and relax muscles, detailed to what your needs may be, specific area's of your body and pressure of massage.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. Some of the same strokes are used as classic massage therapy, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain.

I specifically target tight muscle area's or groups of muscle tissue that need more detailed attention to loosen and relax this muscle tissue's.

Trigger Point Therapy

The technique involves applying short, repeated massage strokes to trigger points, tiny contraction knots in muscle tissue where restricted circulation and lack of oxygen cause referred pain. Trigger points create pain throughout the body in predictable patterns characteristic to each muscle, producing discomfort ranging from mild to severe. Trigger point massage increases circulation and oxygenation in the area and often produces instant relief.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot stone massage uses smooth, heated stones by placing them on the body while they massage other parts of the body. The heat can be both deeply relaxing and help warm up tight muscles so the therapist can work more deeply, more effectively with tight muscles more adequately.
